It was a well-lit comfortable room. The maroon curtains were sashaying with gentle summer wind. A sweetish aroma filled the room with every gush of breeze wafting through the door. At the center of the room was a veneer queen-sized bed on which the two love birds were perched. Dressed in a sea-green striped kurti and a black slender legging, she was at her simple best but elegant nonetheless. Fitting snugly into a checked linen shirt on top of his favorite blue denim jeans, he looked dapper as well. They had come back after spending the entire day outside. Now they were in his room chatting and discussing the day that went by. They just couldn’t get enough of each other. She was cozily sitting with her legs crossed and he was doing what he liked the most, lying in her lap. She was ruffling and gently making loops with the strands of his hair. It was at this time, that he asked her to stay overnight. She patted on his cheeks with a smile and denied. Her affirmative eyes were at loggerheads with her reply. Dusk was gradually melting into a coquettish night outside. And so did their emotions inside.
He pleaded, “Please stay”. Every pore of her body was screaming and wished to yield to his request of staying overnight with him. She wanted to rest her head beside his pillow and watch him speak entire night. She wanted to untie her bun and drape his face in her long flowing hair. She wanted to get ensnared in the wrinkles of his bed linen and cuddled in his strong brawny arms. Yes, she wanted a lot more. But there was something that was stopping her. A feeling, a scary one. Something untoward may happen which, probably, neither of them were ready for. It may not be difficult to break the ramparts, but it is difficult to handle the overflowing deluge of emotions in the wake. Her mind was split in two.
She was ready to leave. Although he respected her decision but made one last attempt to cajole her. She looked at him with a heavy heart and denied. Again. There was flurry of emotions on both the sides. He didn’t want her to leave tonight, probably neither did she. But she felt the time was not ripe yet. However, there was something that she could not resist herself from doing. And their lips met…
